First of all, let me just say that I LOVE the comments that you all have made so far! I am in this new place, starting out this journey all alone, and it feels lonely a lot, so it means more than you can know for me to open up my blog and see comments from people that I know! Keep them coming please!!
So I am sure you could tell from my post last night that I was suffering from some pretty serious jet lag. Well, I kept trying to stay up, to no avail, as I was in the movie room just falling asleep anyway, so I finally headed to bed around ten, woke up at midnight to loud fireworks (Happy New Year!!) and slept until about 4:40 a.m., which was my initial worry ~ to wake up too early. But, then I was able to fall back asleep off and on until 9 a.m.! So, while I am sad that I missed the very exciting New Year's celebrations (travelers have been talking about how great it was), I am happy to report that I got around 14 hours of sleep, which should hopefully make up for the 14-hr time difference! Maybe I will actually be able to enjoy myself now. So, after the chaotic day in the streets of Hanoi yesterday, I am taking today to relax, and also to attempt to post pictures to the blog and picassa, as well as try to put pics onto my portable hard drive, which I haven't tried to do yet. So, if it works out for me, I will hopefully have pics for you to see soon! I am not super computer-literate, and am hoping to have my new English friend help me out with this:)
I will probably do another post tonight to let you know about my progress, and also my plans for the next few days. As everyone here says, Cheers!
Hi sweetheart! Your blog is Awesome! I'm so happy to hear you are doing well. It is also so cool to hear all the details of your new surroundings. I know Vietnam was very overwhelming when I was there, but i felt the kindness of the people there made up for it. Hopefully you're getting used to all the motorcycles and chaos. You mentioned it's also chilly. Are you warm enough at night? Also, are you planning to stay in Hanoi for a bit, or headed South soon? I really love this blog. It makes me feel close to you even though you are on the other side of the world! :) Love ya!
ReplyDeleteCaroline,
